Hi Everyone:
The Bean staff are on holidays so I am writing this two
weeks in advance.
During the beginning of February I did some research on the
YMCA and learned that they want to expand into rural and remote areas of
Canada. Based on this information I contacted them with the intention of
learning if they would like to be part of our Needs and Operational Assessment
process for an aqua centre, gym, and performing arts centre. The good news is
that they want to learn more about us and will be a part of the process. Should
the YMCA decide they want to be in Kindersley we may be the first rural
community in Saskatchewan to host a YMCA.
The new Finance Director, Ejaz, is settling in and has made
some good contributions already. If you happen to see him say hi and make him
feel welcome. His wife is expecting their first child in early March. She is
staying in Vancouver until the baby arrives.
It is hard to believe the hockey season is almost over. It
takes a lot of work to run a great hockey program like we have in Kindersley.
Congratulations to Ron Cannon and the troop at Kindersley Minor Hockey. Good
luck to the teams who are in the playoffs!
A big thank you goes to Joann Kosolofski for her work with
the groups at the walking track.
Another thank you for our local Masons. The Masons made a
donation to the town for the Handi-Bus. Without groups like the Masons our town
would be less of a town.
If you have any questions or comments drop me a line at the
town office or email me at mayorenns-wind@kindersley.ca.
