- On August 22nd we will be hosting a Mayor/Reeves Forum to discuss a plethora of issues ranging from increasing community capacity to reducing costs to quality of life. Phase 2 is a quality of life issue for West Central Saskatchewan.
- We are working to enhance our relationships with potential partners including Sun West School Division, Great Plains College, and the provincial and federal governments.
- In a couple of weeks we are meeting with CIFF, Community Infrastructure Finance Fund, to look at a P3, Public Private Partnership, to fund the project. This is for exploratory purposes to determine the best way to make Phase 2 a reality.
- We are conducting an organizational review to prepare the Corporation of the Town of Kindersley for growth, change, and to realize efficiencies.
- We will be working with Bill Boyd to ensure that we have a presentation that will be effective when we present to the governments.
- We are looking at framing the project in two ways: 1. it is "human capital development" investing in the development of the people of West Central Saskatchewan; and 2. filling in the "big empty" of West Central Saskatchewan with similar sized facilities that other similar sized regions in Saskatchewan enjoy.
- Developing our asset management plan, long term financial plan, and long term infrastructure plan to demonstrate to potential partners our capacity to support the facility and our stewardship skills.
- We will be holding a round table dialogue with the Multi Use Building Committee to determine the best next steps forward.
- Mayor Ian Hamilton of North Battleford has invited Council and members of the MUBC to meet with him and others who made their complex a reality so we can learn the lessons they learned; tentative date is the first two weeks of August.
- I have floated the idea of a "Foundation" to lead fund raising.
