Moment with the Mayor: Strategic Plan

Hi Everyone:

We have been working on a number of plans to prepare for growth and implement responsible change. The guiding document for all of these, Council’s Strategic Plan, was officially adopted at our last regular Council meeting, March 24.

Creating a Strategic Plan is an important step in making sure that the way the Town is run is in line with the priorities of Council. It’s an important link that ensures we are all moving Kindersley forward with clear goals and objectives so that success is achieved.

The Strategic Plan identifies five main priorities, as well as the following vision and mission statements:

Vision:

A positively engaged community building an economically and socially vibrant future

Mission:

·         A family-friendly multicultural community that is safe

·         Approachable, innovative, and fiscally responsible management

·         Forward-looking approach to recognizing and fostering opportunities, solutions and wealth creation

The 5 Priorities identified in the Strategic Plan:

1.       Open Communication

2.       Financial Transparency

3.       Strategic Growth

4.       Reliable Infrastructure

5.       Organizational Effectiveness

We have been working on a number of plans to prepare for growth and implement responsible change. I have written about these before, and they include the following:
