Finally, we have, or what I am hoping we have, a temporary solution to our construction waste challenges. The transfer station will start Thursday at the landfill using large loading bins. If you are going to use the site please sort your waste.
Tipping fees will be assessed and the rate is $88 per half ton truck bed that does not exceed the height of the truck cab. Again, I am hoping this is a temporary solution. We are looking for more effective and efficient disposal until the regional landfill is built; however, we can't say there will be a better solution implemented but we are trying.
A full list of acceptable and non-acceptable items can be seen at the town website. Unfortunately for some of our regional neighbours we are only accepting waste from the Town and RM of Kindersley.
One more thing: the landfill is being operated in compliance with the rules and regulations set by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment.
