Infrastructure Challenges

In this session we worked at our table identifying different infrastructure challenges we are facing. There was general agreement for each of the needs identified below. We rattled this list off in less than a minute. Email me with any questions or comments you may have.

·         Highways – condition, capacity, maintenance,

·         Regional basis, where are trips generated, where do they go, decide on funding strategy based on users

·         Rec – lack of facilities, condition, who pays?

·         What do we need? Then who is using? Is user pay correct model?

·         Non-traditional partnerships with private sector and other levels of government

·         Culture – lack of facilities, condition, who pays

·         Water treatment – capacity

·         Good agreements as to how water is used.

·         Waste water – capacity, new regulations

·         Solid waste – new regulations, capacity

·         Health – capacity, condition

·         Protective Services – capacity

·         Housing - stock

·         Transit
