Brett Diemert: Sask Protective Services Medal

Friday was a special day: Brett Diemert, Kindersley resident, my neighbour, and a Conservation Officer with the Ministry of Environment, was awarded the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal. Congratulations Brett on this significant achievement!
Brett Diemert Awarded His Medal
The medal was presented to Mr. Diemert by Her Honour, The Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, S.O.M., S.V.M. Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. It was a very formal event involving the Provincial Protocol Office.

The Medal Table
Mr. Diemert started his career in Buffalo Narrows, where he met Tammy, his long suffering wife (it seems to me any partner of someone in protective services, Fire, EMS, Police, Conservation Officers suffers). From there they moved onto a community near Meadow Lake, then Spiritwood and now in Kindersley where Mr. Diemert calls home with his parents and siblings. On the day they were unpacking boxes in Kindersley during their move to Kindersley they heard about the shooting deaths of the RCMP Officers in Spiritwood. Shortly thereafter Mr. Diemert was asked to return to Spiritwood to help find the assailant. The latin motto on the medal translates "He defended the City." (Latin has masculine and feminine)
Brett and Tammy Diemert
Success is the result not only of hard work but also the support of a loving partner and sacrifice by family. Congratulations to Tammy and their three children for the success of their husband and father!
