The Co-Op had its start December 3, 1914 as the Merrington Ag Co-Operative Ltd with Mr. Campbell as President. It started with 10,000 shares at a $1 per share for a $10,000 start up. Today Rod MacDiarmed is the General Manager and oversees a co-operative with about $65 million in revenues.

As Tom Watt said, the President, 100 years is a lot of candles and they had the cake for it.

As part of the celebration customers who had placed their name in the draw barrels were eligible to win one of ten prizes. The winners were chosen from all of the barrels in their respective outlets and then drawn again to determine their prize. It was an elimination draw in which the first person drawn had their choice of the 7 consolation prizes and the last person drawn had their choice of one of three grand prizes. Deanna Milner won the grand prize and choose a trip for 4 to Disneyland.
