Rutley Crescent Water Line Saddles

One of the budget decision we made in the spring was to replace the saddles connecting the lines together. The saddles are brass and the one I saw, and another I was told about, have experienced significant erosion.

The picture shows the erosion of the saddle including the one side that is missing. Just inside the saddle you can see the accumulation of rust where the pipe is connected.

The saddle that I was told about didn't have the side bolts connecting it and was held together by mud.

It is good maintenance was not deferred on this project other wise next winter may have been the winter of water breaks and repairs. It is cheaper to do the repairs now rather than later.
