The Teams First Lap. June 14, 2014 |
The longest survivor is in their 41st year and there are others with less than 15 months. Not present tonight was a young guy, I think less than 5 but I'm not sure, who is in his second or third year and is back in the hospital.
I would like to take a moment to thank the Relay for Life team for the hard work that goes into organizing such an important event.
- Chair: Brenna MacDougall
- Terry Bosch
- Esther Boyd
- Michelle Clarke
- Alana Eisenkirch
On behalf of the Town I brought greeting and a variation of my remarks are below. (I write them out, know what I want to say but don't read them.)
Relay for Life Remarks
·
Happy
Relay for Life Day!
·
Thank
you for inviting me on behalf of the Town to celebrate with you this evening.
·
Another
year is a good thing when we talk about cancer because tonight we are
celebrating and
·
I
want to congratulate you, on behalf of the Town of Kindersley and our friends
and neighbours around town, for you fortitude and persistence in striving to
live and celebrate everyday,
·
Don’t
let cancer define you.
·
Occasions
like Relay for Life is when the better angel of our nature is on display as we
work together to overcome the challenges in our lives
·
You
are what is good about Kindersley and a benefit to your friends, family, and
neighbours and remember, cancer is not who you are
·
Thank
you again for the privilege to celebrate with you
·
Happy
Relay for Life Day!
