Grieving for the Young

It is unnatural to grieve for the young; for those who die prematurely due to accident or illness. Instead of celebrating a life lived we are mourning a life lost; a life without fulfillment. No marriage, no children, no accomplishments, no laughter, no tears, no …. It is a life that will be empty. It is a loss that hollows out my heart; a hollowness that no tears can fill. It is a sadness that consumes and is hardly dulled over time.

Words are not enough for a time like this; good intentions are inadequate. Life is persistent moving on its way regardless how we feel. The pain is constant and unceasing diminishing the joy in our life. But, we live.
