Last night the apartment above T&T Travel and the Service Canada Centre burned. Due to the quick response time of the fire department the fire didn't spread. Because many of our downtown businesses were built approximately 100 years ago that was a real fear. The old wood has dried considerably over the years and burns easily.

Main St Fire above T&T Travel and the Service Canada Centre - Oct 21, 2013 |
To the best of my knowledge 7 people were living in the upstairs apartment. Only one person was home and was able to get out through the side window. I don't know the condition of the person who escaped through the window. Two families were lodged at the Kindersley Inn by the Red Cross for the night.
T&T Travel and the Service Canada Centre both received water damage as a result of the fire suppression effort inside the apartment. When I left the scene last night there was no damage to the interior of Kindersley Insurance. I don't know if there was damage at Staples.
