Prior to lifting the state of emergency a plan was put in place to deal with hot spots when they occur. Hot spots are those areas that may be smouldering and erupt into flames.
Friday night at around 7:30 the Fire Department responded to a request by Public Works to extinguish flames. The Fire Department extinguished the flames and Public Works continued to bury the fire.
As of 5:00 this morning when I am writing this there have been no more reports of fires.
This morning around 9:30 I was notified the fire department was back on the scene. As of 10:20 things are under control and 3 staff are working the water penetration tactic.
